While Brooklyn Nets and Barbara Streisand fans have been showing the love, some residents near Barclays Center have complained that the arena’s bright lights have been shining all night, contrary to agreements. Others are annoyed about frequent nighttime helicopter overflies.

The first meeting of the Atlantic Yards Quality of Life Committee, designed to discuss concerns like this, is taking place Tuesday, October 16th at 6:30 p.m. in the Community Room of Brooklyn’s Borough Hall at 209 Joralemon Street.

The committee is meant to foster participation from community groups close to Barclays Center. The committee also includes elected officials (or their representatives), Empire State Development, and FCRC. While membership on the committee is limited, the public is invited to participate in the meeting.
