Police Officer Michael Chapman was recently named the 84th Precinct Community Council’s Cop of the Month. On Sept. 29, P.O. Chapman and his partner were on routine patrol when they heard shots fired near the corner of Nassau and Navy streets near the Farragut Houses. Chapman and his partner saw two people, one of whom was holding his waistband, fleeing. The two officers chased the suspects, arrested them and recovered a loaded 9mm gun. Seen here, left-right, are Community Council president Leslie Lewis, Capt. Maximo Tolentino, Assemblywoman Joan Millman, P.O. Chapman and Mrs. Chapman.
