This past weekend AGAST launched the AGAST kids Art Exhibition during their 13th Annual Open Studio Tour. AGAST artists collaborated with children of P.S. 58, The Carroll School, to create an art exhibit titled: âOur Hopes & Dreams for the Gowanus Canal.â
The art was produced by the entire fourth grade class; 75 students participated under the guidance and direction of their art teacher Megan Kimball. The fourth-graders worked collaboratively to create paintings/collages around the theme of the Gowanus Canal. They were informed by research, on-site visits, their own perceptions of the canal and AGAST artist visits by Regina Perlin, Francis Sills, and Ella Yang. The culmination of the project is
