BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — An award-winning Brooklyn Heights home whose renovations have been so extensive it is basically a brand new house, is on the market.

The property, at 28 Middagh St. in North Heights, received the Brooklyn Heights Association’s 2006 Award for Architectural Excellence and was on the association’s home tour that year.

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — The ride in a hoist up 51 floors was a new experience for this reporter. But it was a necessity, if one wanted to experience the full tour on Wednesday offered by The Clarett Group of its 51-story Brooklyner at 111 Lawrence St. in Downtown Brooklyn.

Search for Amusement Park Operator Is Next on Agenda

CONEY ISLAND – Mayor Michael Bloomberg’s announcement that the city signed a contract with Thor Equities to acquire 6.9-acres in Coney Island for $95.6 million was met with enthusiasm Thursday.

Completion Anticipated for Spring, Sales to Resume in February

DOWNTOWN BROOKLYN — The unfinished residential development at 189 Schermerhorn St. in Downtown Brooklyn has new investors and a spring completion is now anticipated. Jamestown Properties, an Atlanta-and Cologne, Germany-based real estate investment firm, has purchased the mortgage for “Be@Schermerhorn,” called that by its developers Louis Greco and Mario Procida of SDS Procida Development.

BROOKLYN HEIGHTS — The number of hands raised in response to a question about 2010 at Tuesday’s Brooklyn Real Estate Roundtable showed that the majority are hopeful that 2010 will be a better year than 2009.

Only a few believe it will be worse and a significant number said it would be “flat,” in response to outgoing Steering Committee Chair David Kramer’s question.

Popular DUMBO Bookstore Expands, Moves to Larger Space With Longer Lease

DUMBO — P.S. Bookshop, a popular DUMBO retail store, is moving to larger quarters just a few blocks away.

Its primary reason for moving is to have a longer lease term, according to Suzanne Schwimmer, of Schwimmer Realty, who handled the transaction.

Schwimmer reports that P.S. Bookshop has signed a 10-year, two-month lease with Two Trees Management for the 2,138-square-foot corner retail space in the building at 70 Washington St. Its address will be 76 Washington, she said.
