Brooklyn Navy Yard appoints new president
Ehrenberg previously served as vice president for City EDC
David Ehrenberg, currently executive vice president at the New York City Economic Development Corporation, has been appointed as the new president and CEO of the Brooklyn Navy Yard Development Corp. (BNYDC), the not-for-profit company that manages the 300-acre, city-owned industrial park in northwest Brooklyn.
He replaces Andrew Kimball, who was appointed by Mayor Michael Bloomberg in 2005 as president and CEO. Kimball left his position recently to join the real-estate management and asset development firm of Jamestown Partners.
Ehrenberg and his team will oversee the development of more than one million square feet of new industrial space within the yard, upgrading the yard’s infrastructure, leasing space and overseeing employment programs.
“I am pleased to welcome David Ehrenberg to the Navy Yard’s helm,” said Mayor Michael Bloomberg. “The Brooklyn Navy Yard provides small industrial businesses with the opportunities they need to grow and thrive, and as a result, has played a critical role in the diversification of New York City’s economy.”
